Hi! My name is I-Ling Yeh. I'm a Graduate Student at University of Pissburgh.

I caught fire decision-making driven by data science.

When I wrote my thesis in Economics, I always applied supply and demand theories, econometrics and domain knowledge of economics to evaluate the efficient of labor policy. I gravitated toward predicting human behavior and policy maker. Therefore, I yearned to learn more, yearned to learn something different for decision-making.

This yearning carried me through my education at Pittsburgh. Here there were more resources available to me than I ever could have imagined. I studied language and algorithm to scrape websites, engineer features, explore data, model for analyzing, all with pretty helpful to make decision that I eager for. I love applying data mining and solving real problems and having helpful result. It’s oddly satisfying. And I learned truly how much there was yet to learn.

My specialties include quickly learning new skills and programming languages, problem solving, the process of data mining, and machine learning. So far I have Python, SQL, Java, R, MATLAB, PyTorch, Hadoop, Scala, and Git/GitHub under my belt. I’m still enthusiastically grabbing onto any other programming languages, data visualization tools, or domain knowledge I can integrate into the data science in my head.
